How to get rid of dark circles under your eyes

Do you ever get asked why you are looking so tired, or have you noticed unsightly dark circles under your eyes? Well now you can easily banish these unsightly shadows with the help of some simple and easy natural home remedies.

Dark circles have many contributary factors ranging from having a cold, sinus infection, hayfever, or simply a lack of sleep. They can also be hereditary to some extent. They are not dangerous but there are many natural ways we can help to minimize them and return to our fresh and wideawake shadow-free eyes. Give some of these a try in the comfort of your own home.
1. CRUSHED MINT : Crush a few mint leaves with a pestle and mortar. Simply apply these leaves carefully under your eyes and lie back and relax for 20 minutes. You can even add a few drops of almond oil to the leaves. Wipe with a clean damp cloth afterwards.
2. CUCUMBER : Cucumber has long been acknowledged as a natural astringent and also has skin-lightening properties. Get a fresh cucumber from the refrigerator and cut it into thick slices and place over the eyesocket for 10-15 minutes. You can also use cucumber juice with lemon juice in equal quantities applying it on a cotton ball or pad. Again leave for about 15 minutes - you can carry on this process every day for a week and you should see the results.

3. RAW POTATO : Potatos contain natural bleaching agents that will help to get of puffiness around the eyes as well as dark circles. Take a couple of chilled potatoes and use a grater to extract the juice. Soak a cotton wool pad or ball in this juice and place it over closed eyes. After 15 minutes rinse your eye area with cool water and apply a light moisturiser. You could also use chilled slices of potatos applied to the eyesocket area in a similar manner to the cucumber above.
4. ROSE WATER : This has been found to have many skin soothing and rejuvenating properties. Using cotton wool pads soaked in rose water, simply apply over your closed eyes and relax for 10-15 minutes. Anecdotal evidence has shown that if you use this method twice a day for two weeks dark circles have been erased completely.
5. TEABAGS : Cool used tea bags in the refrigerator (black tea works great) and apply directly to closed eyes and leave for fifteen minutes.
Other tips are drink plenty of water throughout the day, get the right amount of sleep and eat organically and as healthily as possible.
